A Jewish girl in Winnipeg was tormented by another teen who tried to light her hair on fire with a lighter while saying anti-Semitic slurs.
WINNIPEG - A youth has been charged for allegedly uttering anti-Semitic slurs at a girl at a Winnipeg high school and singeing her hair with a lighter.
Police say a 14-year-old girl was confronted by a 15-year-old boy in the hallway of Oak Park High School last month.
The girl told a school counsellor about what happened a few days later.
She was not physically hurt and has returned to school.
The youth is accused of assault with a weapon and has been released from custody on a promise to appear.
Justice officials will review the case to determine if hate crime charges are warranted. READ MORE HERE
